We’re leaving the Mercurial airways of Gemini that have been packed with an insistent drum like drive to speak. With Mercury squaring Mars last cycle, words have been piling up and pushing forward in a steady stampede, like a wild herd of cattle trying to communicate. Now with the Sun in sensitive Cancer we feel the tenderness behind the roar of the current astrological configurations that are forming. With the dry winds of Gemini blowing out to sea it’s time to feel the wet oceans of emotional Cancer.

Cancer, as a water sign yearns to feel nurtured. It’s time to slow down, pause and protect what our hearts are quietly coveting. Caring for every creature around us like family is the theme of Cancer as I watch tiny birds trying to pick up bread crumbs off the restaurant floor and witness the wild Iguana sitting in my husband’s lap eating pink hibiscus from his hands and petting my cat who just had surgery, in relief for the goodness of healing that exists, while he sleeps at night, on my pillow… The gentleness of Cancer is surrounding us like a soft blanket and allowing ourselves to fully “FEEL” will help us to unfold safely now.

This New Moon is a total solar eclipse where the Sun, Moon and the Earth all line up at the same declination/latitude in the sky. An eclipse is like a spot light on a specific degree asking us all to pay extra special attention to that point and it’s qualities in the zodiac for at least 6 months until the next eclipse occurs. This is an extra powerful New Moon and the more prepared and receptive we can be through feeling and expressing CANCER”S EMOTIONAL SENSITIVITY the more the eclipse will be able to naturally upgrade our “biochemical circuitry” and move us forward into the next step of our evolution and experience.

Giving extra comforting pets to our animals and the verbal assurances of how much they are loved, keeping the bird feeder filled, scattering seeds in ponds for the frogs and tadpoles and calling neighbors, letting them know we feel for them when their pets and husbands die. 4.) “Protection” placing a protective screen delicately around our feebleness so that we feel strong, stable and safe while allowing tears to fill and fall easily when we’re touched by life’s undeniable preciousness.  All things in life that are involved with empathy, nurturing and care are crying out to be felt by our hearts tiny threads of intuitive awareness as Cancer’s fabric is filled with feeling and then knowing…
